ACCA Bangladesh celebrates opening of new office in Dhaka

The Honourable Minister of Commerce, Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh will speak at a ceremony on 27 January 2010 to celebrate the opening of a new office for ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) in Bangladesh.

The Honourable Commerce Minister Muhammad Faruk Khan MP will deliver a short speech to mark the occasion. The event will also be attended by ACCA’s executive director – markets, Ms Laurie Gillow.

Mohua Rashid, the country manager for ACCA Bangladesh, says: "I am delighted that the Honourable Minister of Commerce is speaking at this event. As the leading global professional body for accountants, ACCA and commerce go hand-in-hand. We are committed to developing the profession in Bangladesh to bring benefits to the economy."

Laurie Gillow, executive-director markets says: "I first came to Bangladesh in 2003, so I am very pleased to be making this return visit to the country. ACCA is very committed to Bangladesh, where we are seeing more people wishing to study with ACCA in order to realise their ambitions.
