Singapore Students Score at the ACCA December 2005 Examinations
ACCA Singapore students continue to set the benchmark for excellence. In the December 2005 examinations, two students under the ACCA/ICPAS Joint Examination Scheme emerged worldwide paper winners.
Senior Management Associate at PSA Singapore Terminals, Mr Wu Yanbin attained 91 marks for Paper 3.7 in Strategic Financial Management. He was also awarded the Gold Medal in the ACCA/ICPAS Joint Examination Scheme - December 2005.
Mr Shawn Liew Yuk En, an audit assistant at Smalley & Co. achieved a perfect score of 100 marks for Paper 1.2 in Financial Information for Management.
Worldwide over 12,000 students sat for Paper 1.2 and a whopping 14,000 students attempted paper 3.7.
Both students pursued the ACCA Professional Scheme because of its high quality and international recognition and presence. Said Yanbin: "ACCA is an internationally recognized professional qualification. It also covers many diverse topics ranging from the qualitative discussion in Strategic Business Planning to the technically rigorous number-crunching in Strategic Financial Management." Added Shawn: "ACCA allows me to practice my profession in any country. It is also the fastest way to pursue a professional qualification through affordable part-time study."
Pleased with the consistent performance by Singapore students, Ms Penelope Phoon, Head of ACCA said: "The ACCA examination papers are known to be rigorous. Students who decide to take the ACCA Professional Scheme know that they are embarking on a well developed and high quality syllabus geared to meet the needs of employers across the spectrum of business, government and practising firms."
A joint ACCA/ICPAS Graduation Ceremony was held on 29 April 2006 at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore to honour all those who passed the December 2005 examinations. In Singapore, close to 13,000 students are studying for the ACCA Professional Scheme.
