ACCA Scotland re-elects Hazel Burt as President
ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Scotland re-elected Hazel Burt as President at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 29 May 2008.
ACCA is the largest and fastest-growing global professional accountancy body and in Scotland has over 7,000 members and students.
Hazel Burt is Associate with Macfarlane Gray in Stirling. This is her second year as President of ACCA Scotland. She has been on the ACCA Scotland Committee for five years and a member of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Panel for seven years.
Speaking about her Presidency, she said: “It is a great honour and privilege to be representing ACCA’s members in Scotland for a second year. I am proud of the contribution ACCA members have made in Scotland and look forward to developing this further.”
Hazel qualified as a member of ACCA in 2000 and was awarded Fellowship in 2005. Since qualifying she has specialised in tax and is responsible for the firm’s tax compliance and consultancy functions dealing with a varied client base of businesses and private clients in addition to trusts and charities.
On Thursday’s AGM, Peter Fee was elected Deputy President of ACCA Scotland.
