Jamie Lyon leads ACCA's global research and insights programme on finance transformation with a particular focus on finance effectiveness; the evolving role of the finance function; the emerging role of the CFO; finance delivery models through shared services and outsourcing; finance talent development; and the finance learning agenda.

He has written and published articles and research studies on finance function effectiveness, talent development and people capability in finance, as well as spoken at events and conferences. He has worked in industry in a variety of finance management roles and at various organisations including Marks and Spencer.

Richard Moat, FCCA is Chief Financial Officer of the Eircom Group. He is the former deputy CEO and CFO of Everything Everywhere Limited, theleading mobile telecoms operator in the UK. Before this, he was managing director of T-Mobile UK. Prior to joining T-Mobile, Richard spent 17 years with the Orange group. As corporate finance director, he was one of the senior management team which launched the business and developed it through the 90s to become one of the UK’s most recognised brands.

Ewan WillarsEwan Willars 
Policy Director

A politics and economics postgraduate of Aberystwyth and Plymouth Universities, Ewan has had a rich career working in Brussels and London across a range of sectors, specialising in policy and public affairs.

Ewan first entered into a policy role working for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Following success in lobbying for changes to UK planning law and state aid regimes at the European level, he moved on to manage the policy and public affairs teams at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). This role increased his experience in thought leadership, through management of RIBA’s Building Futures think tank.

Swapping the world of property for the financial sector, he joined ACCA in December 2010, taking up the role of policy director. In the last eight months Ewan has reinvigorated ACCA’s research and insights work, a key element of our global strategy, and heads up the policy, research and small business units.
