  • ACCA and KPMG, March 2011. This report provides a follow-up to ACCA's survey 'Talent Management in 2010'. A key finding of this research was that less than 20% of organisations had a talent strategy that fully integrated talent identification, development, deployment and retention activity across the finance team. Most talent management practices were found to be informal, sometimes run in isolation, and often functionally based without being part of an integrated, wider plan. Using a series of case studies, this report looks at how talent management can shape and influence the structure of finance functions, and highlights the practices organisations should be adopting in order to deliver the best possible talent development for finance professionals.

  • Hay, Jen and Lievens, February 2011. What is the relationship between expenditure on healthcare systems and health outcomes? In addition, with increasingly constrained economic and financial circumstances the need to maximise health outcomes is ever more pressing. This report on the drivers of health outcomes reviews why some countries with the same level of income produce better health outcomes than others. (Ref: RR-121)
  • The Relevance and Utility of Leading Accounting Research  PDF document - opens in a new window
  • Unerman and O'Dwyer, 2010. This analysis of articles published in the six top-ranked accounting journals, suggests that for the future health of the accounting academy and of individual leading journals, more of the latter need to encourage the submission and publication of a broader range of accounting research. Without this they risk losing their status as foremost journals and will also contribute to the risk that accounting research will lose credibility, if it is no longer seen to serve the needs of the societies that fund this research. (Ref: RR-120)
