- What is the target audience for the Certificate in International Financial Reporting?
The target audience is professional accountants and auditors, qualified in accordance with national accounting standards or other national accounting standards. However, it is possible for those with experience, but no formal qualifications in accounting and auditing to register for this Certificate.
- How much does the course cost?
The standard price of the course and assessment is £180 GBP including VAT. However, a 20% discount is available to ACCA members bringing the price down to £144 GBP. For increased flexibility individuals can also elect to purchase the materials only for £100 GBP (less members discount of 20%) or register for the assessment only for £100 GBP (less members discount of 20%), making the price of each separate component only £80 GBP for ACCA members.

- When can I register?
Students can register online at any time throughout the year – there are no closing dates.
- How can I pay for the Certificate in International Financial Reporting?
The current method of payment for the online courses is by credit or debit card.
- What is the duration of the course?
You will have access to the course for three months exactly from the date that you register.
- How many hours does it take to complete the Certificate in International Financial Reporting?
It is anticipated that the average Certificate in International Financial Reporting student will take 20 hours to work through the course and earn his or her Certificate. The course and assessment will count towards CPD for members of ACCA (subject to ACCA guidelines).
For members following the ACCA Realise Unit Scheme, completing the course materials will contribute 20 units of CPD. A further five units of CPD is available for passing the assessment.
- How do I access the course once I have registered?
On registration, you will be sent a User ID and Password alongside instructions on how to access the course. Please follow these carefully to access the course materials.
- What if I forget my password and username?
You can contact us by e-mailing your query to: students@accaglobal.com and entering 'Certificate in International Financial Reporting' in the e-mail subject line. Please request your password in the body of your e-mail.
- How do I download the course materials?
Go to the course 'Welcome' page. Click on 'Download a printable version of the course' then click on the disk icon to download.
- How is the course assessed?
It is assessed by online multiple-choice assessment. It is only possible for candidates to take the multiple-choice assessment online and marking is also administered and conducted electronically. The score for the test will be available on screen for the candidate immediately after taking the test.
- Do I need to attend an exam centre to sit the examination?
No, the test is sat online. As long as you have access to a computer then you can sit the test anywhere.
- How many attempts do I have at the multiple choice assessment (MCQ)?
Each student has three attempts. If a student still fails after three attempts at the test, s/he will be required to pay a further registration fee and will have another three attempts to pass the test.
- How long is the examination?
The examination is one hour long and there are 25 multiple choice questions.
- How do I start the assessment?
Go to 'Module 9' of the course area, then click on 'Start Assessment' in the course content.
- What happens if I fail my first attempt?
Those who fail are allowed two attempts to re-sit this test. All attempts at the test must be conducted within the three months of access to the online course. Students may repeat their test immediately if they wish. However, they are strongly advised to leave a week before a re-test in order to review the course and to consolidate their learning.
- What is the pass mark?
The pass mark is 50%.
- Do I receive a certificate on successful completion of the online course?
Yes.
- Will the pass mark appear on my certificate?
No, the percentage is not recorded on the certificate. Your name, the official ACCA water seal and the signatures of ACCA Council are all included on the certificate.
- How long do I wait before I receive my certificate?
On passing the assessment the certificate should be received by you within 7-10 days. Please note that this is sent to the address that you entered on registration.
- Can I take two online courses at the same time?
Yes, there is no problem with this so long as you register using the same AD number eg (AD12345) or ACCA membership/registration number. This way you will be linked to all ACCA online courses that you have registered for, past or present.
- Do I need to purchase additional course material?
In order to gain maximum advantage from this course, you should obtain a copy of the bound volume of the 2008 International Financial Reporting Standards. You can purchase this direct from the IASB website.
