- The sixth annual Ceres-ACCA North American Awards for Sustainability Reporting were held in April in Toronto. The awards were the largest ever, with a total of 102 entries from Canada, the United States and Mexico. More than 130 people attended the full-day workshop and award luncheon. A Canadian company, Vancity Group of Vancouver, won the top prize for Best Sustainability Report. The Award for Best First-Time report was jointly won by another Canadian company, Mountain Equipment Co-op of Vancouver.
High profile speakers and guests:
- ACCA deputy president Richard Aitken-Davies was among 121 members, students, dignitaries and guests present at the ACCA Canada graduation ceremony in July.
- ACCA Canada chair, Phil Hodgson, was invited to speak to CGA-Canada members at several of their affiliates’ annual conferences. Phil spoke about ACCA’s global success and the benefits of membership at events in Victoria, Saskatoon, Halifax and Moncton.
