Efficient and effective organisation
- After many months of work, ACCA Canada’s first Constitution document was drafted and approved by Council and Canadian members. At the same time, a corresponding set of amended Bye Laws was drafted and submitted to members. These were approved by Industry Canada in December. Both of these documents provide a clearer delineation of roles and responsibilities for committee members and staff as well as clarifying a number of operational and procedural matters.
- In keeping with the theme of sustainability, and in the interests of reducing waste, the staff at ACCA Canada have introduced electronic certificates of attendance issued to members attending CPD events. Initially introduced in December 2007, the concept will be expanded, with the ideal of becoming 100% paperless in this area. In addition, at the annual CERES-ACCA Sustainability Reporting Award event, ACCA purchased green power to offset the carbon footprint of the day’s proceedings.
