- ACCA Caribbean partnered the Institute of Internal Auditors (Bermuda) to deliver a CPD course on Sarbanes Oxley.
- Affiliate consultations were held in October and November, at the Caribbean office. Around 40 affiliates received guidance on the submission of application forms and completion of supporting documents.
- Members’ groups were established in the Cayman and British Virgin Islands and a group in Barbados was re-established, to assist with local marketing and education plans for ACCA.
- ACCA initiated partnerships with Tariq Hussain, partner, Britestaff, a leading recruitment agency in Cayman Islands. Britestaff will act as sponsor and partner in ACCA activities in the Cayman Islands and provide recruitment services to ACCA members and students regionally.
- In October, The Cayman Islands Member Group was formally introduced to delegates attending the IFRS CPD. There are eight members of the group and the new chairman is Tahir Manzoor.
- Members' meetings were held in the Cayman and British Virgin Islands, and Barbados. Links were established and re-established with core members groups to assist with local marketing and education plans for ACCA.
- Fifty students meetings were held in the islands of Antigua, BVI, Barbados, Cayman Islands, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts, St Lucia, St Vincent, Suriname and Trinidad, for existing and prospective students, in secondary schools, colleges and career fairs.
- In October, ACCA hosted the first social event for FCCAs with the guest of honour Sir Shridath Ramphal delivering the main address. Sir Shridath is a well known public figure and advocate for reform in the Caribbean region.
