Reputation and influence

To celebrate the IFAC 30th anniversary, ACCA organised, in the Czech Republic, a joint event with the Chamber of Auditors of the Czech Republic, the Union of Accountants and Certified Chamber of Accountants. Over 120 guests attended the evening reception, including presidents of all professional bodies in the Czech Republic.
Katka Benesova, head of ACCA Czech and Slovak Republics, and Petr Skoda, audit partner at KPMG Czech Republic in charge of training, were interviewed by the leading economic newspaper Hospodarske noviny, talking about ACCA and careers at KPMG.
All Big Four accounting firms in the Czech Republic and Slovakia are now Approved Employers - Platinum level.
ACCA member Petr Kriz contributed significantly to the new Audit law, which will come into effect on 1 June 2008. Petr Kriz, partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic, former president of Chamber of Auditors of the Czech Republic, and vice president at the European Federation of Accountants (FEE), was also nominated for an ACCA Achievement Award this year.
An advertising campaign was launched for the International Certificate in Financial English (ICFE).
