ACCA Hong Kong has formally become a Strategic Partner of the Vocational Training Council (VTC) in celebration of its 24th anniversary. VTC’s Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) has 10 campuses offering HD and Diploma in Accountancy qualifications, and is the major accounting sub-degree provider in Hong Kong. This award reflects the close relationship that has developed between ACCA, VTC and IVE.
ACCA Hong Kong organised a two-week Train the Trainer programme for the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA). The participants were accountancy faculty from Mainland universities teaching CPA related programmes. A further Train the Trainer session, and new qualification conversion and Paper P1 masterclasses were also organised for 25 teachers from tuition providers in Hong Kong.
ACCA spoke at the Teachers’ Seminar on HKAL Principles of Accounts Exam organised by the Hong Kong Examination Authority. A total of over 300 high school teachers attended this seminar. An update seminar on HKFRS and Management Accounting was also organised in February and attended by 170 accounting teachers from 140 secondary schools.
