Social events
- The 10th and 11th ACCA Charity Fun Days were held in January and December. Highlights included traditional rickshaw races, and a Fun Land featuring stall games and street performances. Over HK$2m was raised for six community service projects of five beneficiary organisations.
- The Spring Dinner, held in March, allowed Committee members to meet key leaders of the profession, representatives from tertiary institutions, Government officials and business leaders to exchange views on the latest developments in the profession and current issues. The Annual Dinner was held in May. About 250 members and guests attended.
- About 120 members volunteered to provide a Free Tax Advisory Service, helping the public complete individual income tax returns via in-person consultations held in a shopping mall in May, and via a telephone hotline which ran from May to June. Over 1,000 members of the public made use of the service.
- ACCA Hong Kong and the Senior Citizen Home Safety Association (SCHSA) organised a home visit for the elderly in December. Over 50 members and students visited the elderly who lived in Shek Pai Wan Estate, Aberdeen. Volunteers gave out quilts, warm clothing and scarves as gifts to the elderly to keep them warm during the winter months.
- A new format to engage senior members was introduced through the organisation of a Happy Hour Gathering. About 70 senior members came to the Red Bar and Restaurant in November to hear Tao Jie, a renowned author, columnist and newspaper editor in Hong Kong who was guest speaker. The event provided an opportunity for senior members to mingle with each other in a relaxed environment.
