- ACCA launched a research report entitled India: International Accountancy and the Future, in Pune in May. The report was based on a survey conducted in April with 100 senior finance accountants and company directors.
- Chas Roy Chowdhury, ACCA head of taxation, participated as a panellist in an international taxation conference held in Mumbai in November.
- ACCA was one of the sponsors of the Indo/UK Business Conference that took place in Mumbai in September. The conference was jointly organised by UK Trade and Investment and the British Business Groups in India, and included a presentation by Lord Digby Jones, UK Minister for Trade and Investment.
- ACCA deputy president Richard Aitken-Davis, participated in the Lord Mayor of the City of London’s visit to India in May. The visit highlighted the importance of the international qualifications being offered in India and gave ACCA the opportunity to raise the issue of market access obstacles with the Ministers of Commerce, Corporate Affairs and Finance. ACCA gave presentations at events in New Delhi and Kolkata, and attended an event focused on education and training, in Mumbai.
