Reputation and influence

ACCA Middle East participated in the visits of the Lord Mayor of London to the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait.
ACCA and CAT qualifications were selected by the Bahraini Government as the vehicles for training 650 local citizens in professional accountancy in the Kingdom.
Joint events were held with the Securities and Investment Institute (SII), the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI).
ACCA Middle East was invited to join a newly formed committee on vocational training in Oman, chaired by the Ministry of Manpower; this will gain ACCA importance influence in the Sultanate.

Members’ achievements

Mrs Azza Raslan, ACCA’s only female Saudi member and voluntary member representative for Saudi Arabia, was appointed to the IFAC Developing Nations Committee.
