ACCA Middle East co-sponsored an event on professionalism and ethics, as well as several high-profile events on IFRS for SMEs, with the national accountancy bodies of Bahrain and Kuwait.
High-profile speakers and guests included:
- ACCA CEO, Allen Blewitt, visited the Middle East in October, and attended a number of high-profile events and meetings, including a press gathering in Bahrain held to celebrate the joint initiative with the Bahrain Labour Fund, presided over by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Chairman of the Bahrain Labour Fund, His Excellency Dr Nezar Al Baharna.
- Khalid Yousaf, managing director - Islamic finance, Internationals Holding Group, spoke at a member event held in Dubai in November.
- His Excellency Nasser Al Rawahy, chairman of the Oman State Audit Institution, was the guest of honour at ACCA Oman graduation ceremony.
