Training and CPD
Throughout February and March, UK business relationship managers (BRMs) conducted business development/relationship management meetings with the heads of 29 BPP and Kaplan Financial regional centres. These meetings were used to share information and to look at future developments and prospects for the provision of ACCA tuition. ACCA UK also supported a total of 11 Open Days held at the main BPP/Kaplan Financial London centres. These events were extremely busy and provided an opportunity to clarify queries on, and promote, the new ACCA Qualification to existing and potential ACCA students. ACCA UK staff spoke with in excess of 300 people at these events. Throughout 2007, UK BRMs have worked with these leading tuition providers to promote the new ACCA Qualification to students and employers. For example, BPP and Kaplan Financial centres hosted over 40 STR/PER Presentation Evenings which focused on the practical experience requirements for the new qualification and reached well over 2,000 students.
UK BRMs also participated in 14 Employer Briefings hosted by BPP regional centres to launch the new ACCA Qualification and gave presentations on ACCA’s new syllabus, practical experience requirements and transition arrangements. Corporate BRMs attended BPP’s UK Training Managers Conference.
ACCA also developed relationships with other significant new and existing tuition providers. For example:
- Cornwall Business School, Camborne
- University of Bangor - ACCA participated in an information evening attended by 30 people to promote the ACCA Qualification and support the activity of the new Management Development Centre which is opened in September 2008 and will offer ACCA tuition in North Wales.
- Warwickshire College - ACCA UK staff attended Warwickshire College’s first Accountancy Fair aimed at potential and existing accounting students and local employers.
