1965
A joint examination scheme is established in Jamaica, leading to partnerships with many bodies in the Caribbean. The Malaysian branch is formed after the separation of Singapore and Malaysia.
1970
ACCA boasts 12,500 members and nearly 22,600 students.
1971
ACCA is renamed again, becoming the Association of Certified Accountants. The letters FCCA and ACCA are introduced.
1972
The Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance, aimed at non-financial professionals, is launched: it is the forerunner of the Diploma in Financial Management.
1973
The Institute of Accounting Staff is formed, offering a technician qualification to junior and middle-level accounting staff.
1974
ACCA is granted its Royal Charter. Roger Dudman becomes secretary and puts in place modern administrative systems and recruits highly-skilled staff.
1975
A committee is set up in Australia, which subsequently expands to include New Zealand.
1976
ACCA Students' Newsletter is launched, renamed student accountant in 2001. The Singapore branch is formalised.
1977
29 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London becomes ACCA's headquarters.
